About the workshop:
February's KULA will begin with a practice co-taught by Helen and Demelza. There will be a small coffee break followed by a two-hour session with Acupuncturist, Doula and Yoga Teacher, Lena Fong. Lena's session will provide a brief introduction to the principles of TCM, including a look at the principles and meridians that govern the practice. The emphasis on these sessions is to inform and to translate knowledge learned into a tangible manner. Lena will show teachers how to synergise this knowledge within a yoga practice. We are really excited to be hosting this session and look forward to learning from the Lena in this community environment.
You must hold a 200 hour YTT certificate to participate in this workshop.

Lena is an empathic and compassionate yoga teacher, doula and acupuncturist. She has over a decade's experience in treating a variety of conditions with acupuncture within clinics in Edinburgh and Northumberland.
Initially studying Chemistry at The University of Edinburgh, she continued her studies with a degree in "Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture" in York. Her Asian background and Hong Kong Chinese parents inspired her to pursue this area. Moreover, she was keen to show how acupuncture has a scientific approach which is not unlike modern day medicine. By sharing her insights to the prevention of illness and the importance of harmonising one's lifestyle has meant her patients enjoy good health. This passion for maintaining a healthy lifestyle led onto further training in yoga (200hrs Hatha Yoga, 200hrs Forrest Yoga, and Aerial Yoga). Her experiences in the acupuncture clinic treating women during pre-conception, pregnancy and postpartum motivated her to become a doula with the "Red Tent Doulas".
Lena is married to Andrew and has two young sons, Lewis and Max. She is also a dog lover and owns a pair of miniature Dachshunds. She keeps healthy by walking and foraging in Scotland's beautiful countryside.
